frequently asked questions

Black Basic Arrow Right

I’m a beginner sewer. Will this be too advanced for me?

This course assumes that you know how to use a sewing machine, and will not go over basic sewing machine operation. However, if you have sewn basic projects such as bags, masks, aprons, pyjamas, you have enough skill to use this course.

I will offer lots of sewing tips along the way for things like stitch length and needle selection, but I won’t go over how to use a machine.

Will you cover adjusting sewing patterns?

Black Basic Arrow Right

No, this is not a pattern-making or patterns skills course. But, there is a course that addresses this as a bonus (Sewing Pattern Success) which you will receive access to shortly after signing up.

Will this course help me start an alterations business?

Black Basic Arrow Right

While I’m making this as comprehensive as I can, all the lessons are broken up into smaller segments that makes it easy to find what you are looking for.

You have access to the videos for at least 1 year, so you can take your time! Even if you just have 1-2 hours a week for a few weeks, you will make progress towards the perfectly fitting wardrobe of your dreams.

I’m not sure if my sewing level is right for this course.

If you know your way around a sewing machine, have made some easy projects and understand words like “seam allowance”, you have enough skill to do this course.

Some of the techniques are easier to do than others. Start with the easier ones and work your way up. This program is great for adventurous beginners who want to learn more about clothing fit.
